Precious lessons I've learned from an Entrepreneur

So yeah, there's a new course at school. It 's called "Entrepreneurship". I read the course description and somehow I was tempted a bit. Then I enrolled in the course hoping to explore something that really interesting and inspiring. Guess what, it was definitely way beyond my expectations !

We met an entrepreneur, who is a very funny guy, friendly and much experienced. He is currently a founder of a great Healthcare startup based in Germany. You can contact him on Linkedin:

He taught us inspirational things with enthusiasm and sincerity. He told his stories, his experience, his journey and most importantly his failures. There are so many stories I can recall about. However, in this post, I will just recap the top 10 advices he gave us that are destined to have the most impact on everything you do to pursue success in life !

1) Happy for others
It was a short story back then when his wife and him having a dinner at a restaurant with another couple, who was his wife's BFF. He then decided to give his wife a big present right at the restaurant. His wife was so happy but the atmosphere with that couple changed significantly since then. Their communication seems without emotional. After that day, his wife had trouble in contact with that girl and eventually figuring out that they were mad and felt uncomfortable with his action. They thought he was showing off !
He was so surprised then. He was not so wealthy at that time, he worked so hard for that so he just wanted to show his wife how much he loves her and they were totally misunderstanding.
In the end, the jealousy was clarified. They all became best friends until the present and they all remember this beautiful memory.
He told us that Happiness is the key to success. Envy leads to nowhere. If you 're not successful yet, just be happy for others. Cheer for them, admire them and learn from them. Eventually, you will find your own success along with them.

2) Allow yourself to fail
Stay hungry, stay foolish. Don't be afraid of failure. Learn from your failures. Keep moving forward !

3) Feel not ready
No matter who you are, you know nothing. Eager to learn and never stop learning. Once you stop learning, you 'll be swallowed !

4) Quiet competitiveness
There goes another story. At that time, he was playing golf with his friend, who was running a coffee shop in Vietnam. It was the time Starbucks began entering Vietnam. He asked his friend: "Are you nervous? They are a big one. It will be a tough battle to compete with them. Any new strategy yet?"
His friend smiled at him and kept swinging the golf stick as if it was not a big deal. Then he explained: " You know. I was a bit worried at first but then I realized the effect they bring along when they are here. Vietnamese are so familiar with milk coffee and iced coffee. It would be very hard for me to single-handedly change their habit into modern coffee like Cappuccino, Mocha or Espresso. I really wanted to do that before. Now the chance is here. Starbucks comes and they will construct a very potential market for free. When the market has flourished, I will also include those products in my service. We both gain benefit. "

5) Work with a headache
Be fearless. Don't be afraid of new challenges. Push yourself beyond the limit and conquer them.
Challenges that you surpassed defines who you really are !

6) Don't take yourself so serious
Always be proud but humble on what you've achieved. Listen and interact with people. Every success is just a beginning of a new journey.
Live a simple life, positive thinking, caring and meaningful !

7) Fine-tune at what you 're good at
Don't work on your weakness !
" Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. " - Albert Einstein

8) No To-Do list
It doesn't mean to not set goal or objective. If it 's important, do it immediately. Otherwise, just set short-term objectives. Allocate your time deliberately. No procrastinating !

9) Laser Focus
Welcome to another story. This time, he was running his own company. One day, there was a huge bug in the system and it caused considerable damage to the customers. The dev team was in chaos then. They kept arguing to find out whose fault was that and what happened in hours. Meanwhile, the bug kept expanding and generating newer errors for the whole system, which made the customers very angry. The leader was panicked and just kept knocking his door to report new issues every 30 minutes. Eventually, he had to say: "So have you solved it yet? No ... Then why the f*ck are you still here. What do you think I hire you for? If you dare to come here one more time, you will be fired". 2 hours later, he went to check the result and you know what, everything was resolved completely.
So yeah, the lesson here is: Focus On What Really Matters, And Stop Wasting Time
 ̶P̶r̶o̶b̶l̶e̶m̶ ̶F̶o̶c̶u̶s̶      --------->     Solution Focus
You 're what you focus on !

10) Happiness is Success
Whatever you do, do it with love and happiness. Success is there, only one step ahead !

Remember, the future lies in your hand and it depends on your decision :D
